Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me. (Isaiah 49:16, Amplified)
There is much debate concerning whether Christians should have tattoos or not. I remember contemplating getting one when I was an undergraduate, but I chickened out. Today as I look at this scripture, I’m glad that I didn’t. Because although it wasn’t anyone’s name it would have been symbolic of who and where I was in my life then. Which to be honest was not a good place. Perhaps I would have found myself today regretting it and wanting to go through the painful process of having it removed.
However, when we consider what God has to say about this that we are indelibly etched in the palm of both of His hands we have to first know what the word indelibly means. Indelibly is defined as a way that cannot be removed or forgotten. We are tattooed in the palms of God’s hands. Our names cannot be removed, and He cannot forget about us. Every day that He looks at His hands He sees me. He sees you.
So remember when you are going through your trials of life be it sickness, financial or family and it seems like no one cares and you’re all alone God sees you. He cannot and will not forget about you because you are indelibly etched tattooed engraved imprinted in the palms of the Almighty’s hands.
